Sports Report
By Alex Semenza & Clare Greene
The fourth graders
are taking a physical fitness test in gym for our state. The first event is a
mile run, second is push-ups and third is curl ups. The best 3 times for the
mile runners are… first place is a time with 7:22, second place is a time of
7:23, and third is a time of 7:33. The slowest time in 4th grade was
15:24. A good pace was 2 minutes per lap.
The push up limit is
40 push-ups per person. In Mrs. Hain’s class the lowest score was 10 push-ups out
of 40 possible. There were 2 people in
Mrs. Hain’s class who got 40 push-ups, and there was 1 person who hit the mark
of 40 push-ups in Mrs. Phelp’s class. In Mrs. DeLoretto’s class there is the
record of 31 push-ups.
The curl up limit is
60 curl ups per person. Many people got 60 curl ups. Most people thought that
push-ups were way harder than curl ups. The lowest amount of curl ups is 0.
The third event was
sit and reach. Mr. Kronish put a ruler on a hollow box and we had to had to
stick our foot in the box and he would measure how many inches our hand could
reach. The farthest reach was around 15 inches.
