Snowboard Cross
Snowboard Cross was added into the winter olympics in 2006. In this sport 6 snowboarders all board down a mountain at once. The first snowboarder to get down the mountain either wins or moves on to the next round. Contact is allowed but not on purpose. If you fall you can still continue. You can’t go out of the boundaries or you are eliminated. The gold medal winner in the 2014 Sochi, Russia winter olympics was Pierre Vaultier from France. He’s 26 years old. He is the first French to win gold in snowboard cross. The silver medalist is Nikolay Olyunin of Russia. He’s 22 years of age. The bronze medal recipient is from U.S.A. His name is Alex Deibold. He’s 27 years old. In 2010 he waxed the boards for the olympic competitors. Now he has won the bronze medal. In snowboard cross you should never stop going because when someone falls you still could get back in it.
