Halloween is Coming!

Halloween Is Coming
   By Jack Mattingly

Halloween is coming soon. You better get your costumes. Get prepared to have some candy! Snicker bars, Milky ways,Kit-Kats and all different kinds of candy. It’s okay if you get toothbrushes and pencils. You still get a lot of candy. There are a lot of people that give big pieces of candy. One of the best parts is that you get to wear a costume and run a muck. I have to say that elderly give the most candy or the longest pieces of candy. I will recommend going to the big apartment complexes like Freedom Green. I will not recommend not going to cities  because they are dangerous at night. It is okay if you can’t go trick or treating because you have to give out the candy but the good thing is you get the leftovers.

Big Cats
By, Lily H.
&
Clara S.
Two Big cats (not pets) are named The White Bengal Tiger. Another one is named Leopard. These are two paragraphs about both of those big cats.

White Tiger: The tiger is a mammal. They live in dense jungle and mangrove swamp usually in India. The White Tiger is White, Black or Brown. Their life span is 10-20 years. They are carnivores. Their prey is deer, cattle, and wild boar. Over the past century the white tiger has become even rarer in the wild due to trophy hunting or capture for the exotic predators. They are 2.4m-3.3m. Their top speed is 96kph (60mph.) Most big cats call their babies cubs. The white tiger is a large and powerful mammal.

Another Big cat is a Leopard. It is a midsize wild cat. They are usually found in Asia and southern Africa. They spend a lot of time high in the trees. They are mammals like all other cats. They have fur. Their top speed is 45kph. They eat deer, warthog, and rodents. Their predators are tiger, lion and people. Their lifespan is 10-15years.Their name of young is also cub.  Their biggest threat is hunting and habitat loss. There are 7 species of the leopard.

School is Almost Over Poem

School is Almost Over

School is almost over
Hooray
Another summer is here
We get to laugh and play
Have fun with your friends
Go to a pool
Then it’s time,
To go back to school

I Am Poem

I Am
I am determined and athletic.
I wonder what makes me go.
I hear a ball being kicked.
I see a goal being scored.
I want to play forever.
I am determined and athletic.

I pretend to be famous.
I feel the joy of winning.
I touch the winning trophy.
I worry about letting my team down.
I cry when it comes to an end.
I am determined and athletic.

I understand that you can’t always succeed.
I say sports make life exciting.
I dream to play professionally.
I try to be the best I can be.
I hope my dream comes true.
I am determined and athletic.

4th Grade Biographies

4th Grade Biographies
Right now in the 4th grade students are working on their biographies You get to choose a famous person to research and write about . After the written work the 4th graders are doing a wax museum. The 4th graders will hold their thumbs up, and if you press it down they’ll give you information on their person’s life as if they themselves were the person.
The 4th graders have been learning cool facts about their famous people that they never knew about. For example, Grace is doing Beethoven, and she learned that he was deaf and that he played for Mozart. Claire is doing Jackie Robinson, and she learned that he played 4 different sports. Daniel is doing Albert Einstein and he learned that he is the best physicist ever. He was even smarter than Isaac Newton.
To prepare for the wax museum, the students must study their person’s life. They need to memorize facts so when people come around they know what to say. The 4th graders also need to plan out an outfit that their person would have worn during their time. Some people, like Anne Frank or George Bush, will be simple, but other people like King Tut or Albert Einstein, may be difficult. The students will have to use their imagination for the costumes.
The biographies will most likely be hung on bulletin boards, and we hope you read and enjoy them!
