Winter Olympics are starting up Friday February 7th. This year is
the first time Russia has hosted The Winter Olympics. The Olympics are
happening in Sochi, Russia. Other countries that have hosted the winter
Olympics are The United States, France, Austria, Canada, Japan, Italy, Norway,
and Switzerland. These

first gold medal in Winter Olympics history was won by an American in speed
skating.
