THE THIRD GRADe FIELD TRIP
For the third grade field trip
we went to The Connecticut Historical Society and The Old State House. They are
both in Hartford.
We learned why we are called
the nutmeg state. One reason is good, one is bad . The good one is that there were
a couple of peddlers that sold a lot of nutmeg. As time went on there were more and more peddlers.
The bad reason is that
peddlers sold fake nutmeg that was wood. People bought it and when they put it
on food they were eating wood.
The lady guiding us sent
around a nutmeg and asked if it was fake or
not . It was fake. It was made of wood.
When we went to The Old State
House where we renacted the story of the Charter
oak. Then we did a scavenger hunt. after that we got to dress up! finilly it
was time to go back to school. it was a great field trip and i hope third grade
can have another!
